Hamas vows to retaliate against Israel for the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of its political bureau. Youssef Hamdan, the Hamas representative in Algeria, confirmed this to RIA Novosti, stating that Israel will pay the price for this crime and others committed against the Palestinian people.
Haniyeh was killed in an attack on his residence in Tehran, Iran, shortly after attending the inauguration of the new Iranian president. Hamas attributes his death to an Israeli assault, but Israeli army officials have chosen not to respond to foreign media reports.
The White House acknowledged the incident but declined to provide further details. Despite the loss of their leader, Hamas remains steadfast in its mission, with Hamdan emphasizing that the organization’s decisions will not waver in the face of such violence.
