Gunmen Strike Again in Owerri: One Killed, Vehicle Burnt
Recent attacks in Owerri, Imo State, have left residents in fear as gunmen continue to wreak havoc. Just a day after the tragic killing of four policemen and a POS operator in Irete, Owerri West LGA, another young man lost his life in Orji, Owerri North LGA.
The gunmen, firing shots into the air, also set fire to an Imo State Government Waste Management Agency vehicle at Nkwo Orji Market. Eyewitnesses reported hearing the assailants warning residents to stay indoors during the sit-at-home order or risk their lives.
With chaos erupting in the market, traders and buyers fled, leaving their belongings behind. The scene was one of panic and confusion, with commuters stranded due to the fear of further attacks.
The police have assured the public that they are working to bring the perpetrators to justice and maintain peace in the area. The situation remains tense as residents grapple with the ongoing violence in the region.
