Join in the celebration as Egypt commemorates the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on Tuesday, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the scourge of human trafficking. This annual event was established by the UN General Assembly in 2013 to shed light on the plight of trafficking victims and the need for concerted efforts to eradicate this crime.
This year’s theme, “Leave No Child Behind in the Fight Against Human Trafficking”, underscores the importance of protecting children from the dangers of trafficking. Egypt has made combating human trafficking a top priority, enacting laws and setting up committees dedicated to addressing this issue.
Notably, the National Coordinating Committee for Combating and Preventing Illegal Migration and Trafficking in Persons (NCCPIM & TIP) is the first of its kind in the Middle East, demonstrating Egypt’s commitment to fighting against these crimes. Through initiatives like the National Awareness Raising Campaign, Egypt aims to educate the public about the dangers of trafficking and encourage citizens to report any suspicious activities.
Let’s stand together against human trafficking and ensure that no child is left behind in the fight for a safer, trafficking-free world.
