British MPs Call to Bar US Oil Tanker from Docking in Gibraltar
British members of Parliament have demanded that an oil tanker flying the American flag, carrying 300,000 barrels of fuel oil to Israel, be prevented from docking in Gibraltar. The MPs, including representatives from the Scottish National Party, Labour, and the Green Party, expressed concerns that the fuel could be used by Israeli military aircraft in attacks on Gaza.
The parliamentarians urged the government to block the tanker’s access to Gibraltar, stating that the territory should not be complicit in Israel’s violations of international law. They highlighted the impact of Israeli air raids on Palestinian civilians and called for decisive action to prevent further bloodshed.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that the UK government may delay a decision to suspend arms sales to Israel due to pressure from the British Jewish community. The government is expected to limit restrictions on specific materials linked to allegations of war crimes while continuing to supply arms to Israel.
