Turkish President Erdogan and Somali President Discuss Bilateral Relations
The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Somali counterpart Hassan Sheikh Mohamud engaged in discussions on Monday regarding various issues on a bilateral, regional, and global level. The Communications Directorate of Turkey confirmed the meeting.
President Erdogan emphasized the significance of Somalia’s territorial integrity and unity during the conversation. He also assured continued support for Somalia in its fight against terrorism and expressed Turkey’s commitment to mediating the conflict between Somalia and Ethiopia, which escalated following a recent port deal between Ethiopia and the breakaway region of Somaliland.
Erdogan highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the two countries in areas such as energy and defense, affirming a commitment to further advancing these partnerships.
