Palestinian residents of Burqa village resist illegal Jewish settlers trying to establish outposts on their lands.
Amid ongoing attacks and protection from the Israeli army, residents face increasing settler incursions, especially since the genocidal war on Gaza began.
Establishment of Three Outposts
Burqa resident Muhammad Sumrain reported nine surrounding settlements, with restricted access and violent settler behavior like burning crops and trees.
The settlers, led by Itamar Ben Gvir, aggressively expand, with the government’s full support, hindering Palestinian life and displacing families.
‘Decisive’ Plan
Israeli Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s ‘Decisive Plan’ aims to solidify settlement outposts, reshape demographics, and hinder a Palestinian state, intensifying the annexation of Palestinian land.
The strategic establishment of outposts aims to fragment Palestinian territories and maintain Israeli control, further complicating the path to Palestinian statehood.
