Armouti highlighted the progress Jordan has made in addressing the gender gap and creating more equitable conditions for women. She mentioned the improvements in women’s political participation in the Arab world, with many countries implementing quotas to ensure gender representation in parliaments.
However, Armouti also noted the obstacles hindering gender justice, including cultural norms, legal discrimination, political instability, and economic barriers. She emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach involving legal reforms and societal change from various stakeholders.
