The Organisation of American States’ (OAS) election observation department has refused to recognise the results of Venezuela’s disputed election, where President Nicolas Maduro was declared the winner. The 35-member regional body criticized Venezuela’s National Election Council (CNE) for showing bias towards the government.
Protests have erupted in Venezuela, with the United States and other Latin American leaders calling for greater transparency. The OAS report highlighted various illegalities and malpractices in the election process, accusing the regime of undermining the will of the majority.

The OAS report further stated that the Venezuelan government’s repressive actions distorted the electoral results, describing the election as marred by “exceptional manipulation.” Despite Maduro’s claims of having a transparent voting system, the OAS insisted that the results lack credibility without proper documentation.
