New Delhi: Nitin Gadkari Attends Inauguration of Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian
Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari recently attended the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s reformist President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran, showcasing the strong bond between the two nations. Pezeshkian took office as Iran’s ninth president after winning a run-off election against hardliner Saeed Jalili, following the tragic death of former President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash.
Gadkari conveyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s best wishes to President Pezeshkian and discussed bilateral relations, particularly focusing on the development of the Chabahar Port. Both sides emphasized the port’s potential to enhance regional and global trade by providing access to landlocked Afghanistan and Central Asian countries.
Expressing optimism for future collaborations, Gadkari tweeted, “We look forward to continued collaboration and mutual growth, reaffirming our commitment to furthering India-Iran relations across various sectors for the prosperity and development of both countries.” The meeting underscored the strategic importance of the Chabahar Port in strengthening trade ties and boosting connectivity between India and Iran.
