Kerala Chief Minister Convenes High-Level Meeting for Wayanad Landslide Rescue Operations
In the aftermath of devastating landslides in Wayanad district, Kerala, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan called for a high-level meeting to coordinate rescue efforts. With at least 123 casualties and over 128 injured, the situation is dire in the hilly region.
During the meeting, Vijayan, along with top officials, assessed rescue operations, coordinated with central government agencies, and ensured deployment of disaster response forces. He also focused on health and safety measures in relief camps to aid the affected population.
Amidst the destruction caused by the landslides, picturesque hamlets like Mundakkai, Chooralmala, Attamala, and Noolpuzha in Wayanad are now engulfed in sadness and despair, with homes destroyed, water bodies swollen, and trees uprooted.
Despite the challenging conditions, the Chief Minister’s office remains committed to providing necessary support and resources for the affected communities.
