Venezuela’s electoral authority, controlled by the Chavista movement, declared President Nicolás Maduro the winner of Sunday’s presidential elections. The National Electoral Council (CNE) announced Maduro’s victory with 51.2% of the votes counted, sparking allegations of fraud from the opposition and international community.
