An attack on the Olenya airfield in Russia’s Murmansk region has resulted in damage to a Tu-22M3 strategic bomber, as confirmed by Andriy Yusov, a spokesman for Ukraine’s GUR defense intelligence. This incident was reported in the national telethon, validating media reports on the matter.

The attack, carried out in the early hours of Saturday, July 27, targeted three military airfields and an oil refinery in Russia. Drones struck the Engels and Diagilev military airfields, along with the Olenya airfield where a strategic bomber was stationed.

According to intelligence sources, a UAV attack on the Olenya airfield caused damage to the Tu-22M3 bomber. The aircraft is a long-range supersonic missile-carrying bomber and was located approximately 1,800 kilometers from Ukraine’s border.

This recent development underscores the ongoing tensions in the region, highlighting the evolving nature of security threats in the area.
