Recent polls conducted by The New York Times and Siena College Research Institute show that US Vice President Kamala Harris is not far behind former President Donald Trump in terms of support for the upcoming presidential elections, surpassing current President Joe Biden. The poll revealed that 48% of voters are in favor of Trump, while 47% are ready to vote for Harris, marking a significant increase for the Democrats since early July.
The survey, which involved 1,142 Americans and has a margin of error of 3.3 percentage points, was conducted between Monday and Wednesday. The outcome of the poll has sparked interest and discussion, especially with the announcement by President Biden on July 21 of his decision to withdraw from the election race and endorse Vice President Harris for the presidency.
With the US presidential elections scheduled for November 5, the competition is heating up and the race for the highest US government post is becoming increasingly intriguing.
