Osun State Government Directs Schools to Proceed on Third Term Vacation
The Osun State government has ordered primary and secondary schools in the state to start their third term vacation from Wednesday. This directive applies to both public and private schools in Osun State.
The decision to close schools was made in anticipation of a nationwide protest against hunger scheduled for August 1. A Public Service Announcement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Education, Mr. A. Jimoh, urged parents to ensure the safety of their children during the vacation period.
Earlier on Monday, Governor Ademola Adeleke met with representatives from Civil Society Organizations and student groups to discuss the planned hunger strike. The outcome of the meeting is still pending.
