The Israeli army has intensified its artillery bombardment in various areas of the Gaza Strip, continuing their incursions into the southwestern outskirts of Gaza City. Witness reports indicate heavy shelling in neighborhoods like Tel al-Hawa and Sabra, with residential buildings being targeted by machine gun fire.
The Gaza Civil Defense spokesperson reported ongoing violence, including abductions, home burnings, and casualties. Israeli airstrikes and artillery targeted the al-Bureij refugee camp, destroying homes. The Nuseirat refugee camp and Deir al-Balah city also faced intense bombardment.
In southern Gaza, Israeli military vehicles engaged in limited incursions, with heavy artillery fire and drone attacks. Residential buildings were demolished in Al-Qarara amid clashes with Palestinian resistance fighters.
Despite international condemnation and a UN resolution for a cease-fire, Israel remains in a brutal offensive since an Oct. 7 attack by Hamas, causing over 39,300 Palestinian deaths and 90,800 injuries. The situation in Gaza remains dire, with widespread destruction and shortages of essential resources.
Accusations of genocide have been leveled against Israel at the International Court of Justice, urging an immediate halt to military operations in Gaza.
