The Israeli army destroyed a drinking water reservoir in Rafah, Gaza, exacerbating the severe water crisis in the area.

The 401st Brigade of the Armored Corps demolished the central reservoir in Tel al-Sultan neighborhood, with a soldier sharing a video of the explosion on social media with a disturbing caption. The incident is now under investigation for potential breach of international law.

The destruction, which occurred without evacuating the neighborhood, has been condemned as a grave violation of humanitarian law by the municipality of Rafah. The Mayor, Ahmed Soufi, called it a crime against humanity and urged international intervention to halt such actions.

This act is just one among many in Israel’s ongoing brutal offensive on Gaza, resulting in a devastating war since October. The situation has led to a severe water crisis, famine, and mass displacement of Palestinians, primarily affecting women and children.

The relentless attacks have prompted international condemnation and calls for justice against the ongoing genocide perpetrated by Israel in Gaza.
