Family of Journalist Gadani barred from entering Bhuttos’ tomb to protest – Pakistan

LARKANA CARAVAN PROTESTS AT BHUTTO MAUSOLEUM

A caravan from Ghotki traveled to the Bhuttos’ mausoleum in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto to protest on the grave of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto over alleged police slackness in arresting suspects in the murder FIR of journalist Nasrullah Gaddani. The caravan, including Gaddani’s family and civil society activists, faced police interference but managed to reach the mausoleum gate.

Despite police attempts to stop them from entering the mausoleum, the protesters held a sit-in at the gate, with Gaddani’s mother fainting due to the heat. The protesters urged the Sindh government to expedite suspect arrests, recalling the unfulfilled promise by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. The Larkana SSP mentioned the likelihood of the sit-in ending soon, but it continued till late evening.

Despite the obstacles faced, the protesters remained steadfast in their demands for justice, highlighting the need for police accountability in addressing such cases.
