The Development Ministry is working on a plan to reduce the cost of living and combat rising prices of essential goods, as announced by government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis in a recent press briefing.
This initiative includes ongoing discussions with supermarket associations and food industry representatives to address the issue. The government’s efforts have already shown promising results, with supermarket prices dropping by an average of 1.92% in June 2024 compared to the previous year.
Marinakis emphasized the importance of sustaining this positive trend by continuing to monitor and regulate prices. The government aims to bolster household purchasing power through a comprehensive development policy and income-boosting measures for citizens.
