British PM Urges Cease-Fire in Gaza
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer met with Israel’s President Isaac Herzog in Paris and called for immediate steps toward a cease-fire in Gaza. Starmer emphasized the need for hostages to be released and more humanitarian aid to reach those in desperate need.
While reaffirming support for Israel’s right to self-defense, Starmer stressed that there is no moral equivalence between Israel’s actions and those of Hamas, a recognized terrorist organization.
The leaders also discussed continued cooperation in areas such as trade and investment. Despite international condemnation, Israel has continued its offensive on Gaza, resulting in thousands of Palestinian casualties and widespread devastation.
Israel faces accusations of genocide and has been ordered by the International Court of Justice to halt military operations. The situation remains dire in Gaza, with a blockade limiting access to essential resources.
