Beirut Airport Flights Disrupted due to Israel Threat – Global News

Flights from the evening of July 28 onward have been suspended at the airport due to increasing tensions between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah. Lebanon’s flag carrier, Middle East Airlines (MEA), announced that some flights scheduled to depart from Beirut would be postponed until the morning of July 29. The German airline group Lufthansa has also suspended its services to Beirut until August 5.

Other airlines, such as Air France and Transavia France, have followed suit and suspended their flights between Paris and Beirut. The US, UK, and France have issued security alerts advising their citizens not to travel to Lebanon due to potential disruptions in air travel.

Tensions escalated after a rocket attack in the Israel-occupied Golan Heights, with Israel blaming Hezbollah. Discussions for a potential attack on Hezbollah are ongoing, raising fears of a full-blown war between Israel and Hezbollah.

The situation remains tense, with an exchange of cross-border attacks between Israel and Hezbollah, following a deadly Israeli onslaught on Gaza. The region is on high alert as the possibility of military action looms.
