한동훈 국민의힘 대표가 29일 신임 사무총장에 서범수 의원(재선·울산 울주)을 임명했다.
한 대표는 이날 국회에서 열린 최고위원회의에서 “제가 생각하는 사무총장으로는 변화에 대해 유연하고 그렇지만 어려운 일에 앞장설 수 있는 분들로, 얘기를 듣고 찾아봤는데 서 의원이 사무총장으로 같이 하면 어떨까 생각한다”며 인선 구상을 밝혔다. 사무총장은 조직과 예산 등 당의 살림을 책임지는 자리다.
서 사무총장은 제33회 행정고시에 합격해 울산지방경찰청장, 경찰대 학장 등을 역임했다. 21대 국회에서 이준석 대표 시절 비서실장을 지냈다.
