Warrap State gets food supplies to stabilize prices

Warrap State government has taken a significant step to address the high prices of essential food commodities by receiving truckloads of supplies for distribution.

Under the leadership of Governor Kuol Muor Muor, the state has partnered with GALDA Co. Ltd to purchase over 10,000 varieties of food items, including maize flour and sorghum. This initiative aims to lower food prices and stabilize the market in six counties within the state.

Local communities have been struggling with the soaring prices of food items, making it difficult for many to afford basic necessities.

The distribution of these supplies is being closely monitored by committees set up by the state government to ensure transparency and prevent any form of cheating. Each county has been allocated a specific number of bags, with special allocations for the Kuajok municipality and the Warrap State workers’ union.

To make the purchased goods accessible to all, individuals can buy in smaller quantities if unable to afford the entire bag. The prices set by the government are significantly lower than the current market rates, providing relief to the local population.

This initiative not only aims to stabilize the market but also emphasizes the importance of honesty and discourages the resale of these essential items for commercial gains.
