In the early hours of Friday, July 26, an air alert was declared on the Crimean Peninsula due to explosions heard in Novofedorivka, Okunivka, and Simferopol. The Telegram channel Astra reports that the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the Novofedorivka military airfield with ATACMS missiles, resulting in the destruction of a radar station and stored ammunition, as well as injuring two Russian servicemen.
Further reports indicate that an ATACMS missile also hit a Russian air defense site near the village of Shovkovychne, destroying a radar installation. The airfield, now hosting the 43rd Fighter Aviation Regiment of the Russian Aerospace Forces, was previously a base for Ukrainian Forces and currently stores aviation bombs and missiles used in attacks on Ukraine.
