Ukraine has secured an agreement with its allies to acquire 200 evacuation vehicles, Deputy Defense Minister Natalia Kalmykova said on July 27. The Strategic Industries Ministry is also actively working to ensure Ukraine can produce such equipment domestically.
Kalmykova mentioned that casualty evacuation and medical evacuation require different vehicles and equipment. The Strategic Industries Ministry is striving to meet these requirements, with international partners like the United States, Spain, and Lithuania supplying M113 vehicles.
“I hope that with the support of international partners, we can make significant progress on this issue,” Kalmykova stated. The goal is to have adequate evacuation vehicles for ongoing military operations in Ukraine.
Despite challenges, Ukraine remains determined to enhance its capabilities for casualty evacuation, addressing the crucial need for such vehicles in conflict zones.
