Iran’s new president, Masoud Pezeshkian, has received formal endorsement from Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. The 73-year-old reformist politician Mohammad Reza Aref, who previously served as the first vice president under Mohammad Khatami’s administration, has been appointed as the first vice president of the 14th Iran government by President Pezeshkian.
Aref, a former member of the Iranian Parliament representing Tehran, currently holds positions in the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution and the Expediency Council. Former vice-president Mohammad Mokhber congratulated Aref on his new role, expressing wishes for his success in upholding the ideals of the Islamic Revolution and serving the people of Iran.
With the support of the Supreme Leader and the blessings of Imam Mahdi (AS), Aref is poised to lead the government towards a brighter future, aligning with the goals set forth by the Islamic Revolution.
