Minister of State, Water Resources and Sanitation, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, has urged the Northern youths to reconsider their planned protest against hunger, emphasizing the importance of unity and collective effort in tackling current challenges. He highlighted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to addressing socio-economic issues, such as approving an increase in the minimum wage and establishing the North West Development Commission to promote regional development.
Goronyo also praised infrastructure projects like the Sokoto-Illela-Lagos Badagry Expressway and rail projects from Kano to Maradi, for enhancing connectivity and boosting trade. He mentioned initiatives like the student loan scheme and local government autonomy, as well as the administration’s efforts in water and sanitation.
He appealed to the Northern youths to engage in dialogue with the government to find sustainable solutions, rather than resorting to protests that could hinder progress. Goronyo reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing economic challenges and working towards a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria through collaboration and cooperation.
