Israel’s ‘heinous’ act in Majdal Shams intensifies regional tension

Syria has accused Israel of carrying out a “brutal massacre” in the town of Majdal Shams in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights to escalate tensions in the region. The Syrian Foreign Ministry stated that Israel is trying to fabricate pretexts to continue aggression in the area. Despite Israeli accusations against the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, Syria condemns Israel’s daily massacres and holds them responsible for the dangerous situation in the region.

At least 12 people were killed in a rocket attack in Majdal Shams, with Hezbollah denying involvement. Lebanon has urged the US to intervene and push for Israeli restraint, calling for an international investigation into the incident. Hezbollah retaliated with an attack on an Israeli position, sparking further tensions in the region.

The Lebanese Foreign Minister emphasized the need for the complete implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 to avoid further escalation and protect Lebanon’s territorial integrity. The situation remains tense, with the risk of a regional war looming.
