Israel strikes S. Lebanon after 12 killed in Golan Heights

The Israeli military launched attacks on several towns and villages in Southern Lebanon in response to an alleged Hezbollah attack that killed 12 people in the Golan Heights. Warplanes targeted various locations, causing casualties and damage to property.

Following the rocket attack in Majdal Shams, Israeli authorities accused Hezbollah, while the Lebanese group denied responsibility. Iran warned of unforeseen consequences if Israel continued military actions in Lebanon.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to retaliate, calling the attack on Israeli civilians the deadliest since the recent conflict began. Both sides exchanged fire, leading to further escalation and condemnation from international organizations.

Call for Restraint

In the aftermath of the strikes, the United Nations and the United States urged maximum restraint to prevent further escalation and a broader regional conflict. Lebanon’s government called for an immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts.

The ongoing violence has resulted in hundreds of casualties on both sides, with displaced populations in border areas. The situation remains tense as rhetoric intensifies and calls for a diplomatic solution grow louder.
