The IMF Director and French economist Gabriel Zucman praised the G20’s decision to reform super-rich taxation, emphasizing the need for international cooperation to combat tax evasion.
This historic consensus also marks progress on issues like poverty, hunger, and climate change within the G20. Despite previous divisions, Brazil managed to navigate political obstacles by releasing separate statements on tax, broader communiqué, and other global issues.
