Arson suspect damages Adelaide building in fire

A man has been charged with arson after a fire devastated the historic Oxford Hotel in North Adelaide, causing significant damage to the building.

Thick, grey smoke billowed over the city as firefighters worked to contain the blaze on O’Connell Street, resulting in road closures between Archer Street and Gover.

Following investigations, a 37-year-old man was apprehended and charged with arson. He is set to face the Adelaide Magistrates Court soon.
