Ukraine’s military intelligence agency conducted a successful attack on Russian airfields, damaging a supersonic bomber plane. Ukrainian drones targeted airfields in Saratov, Murmansk, and Ryazan regions, as well as an oil refinery in Ryazan.
The attack resulted in damage to a Tu-22M3 long-range supersonic bomber-missile carrier in Murmansk. This marks the first time Ukraine has downed this type of aircraft armed with heavy anti-ship missiles used in strikes on Ukraine.
Russia’s Defense Ministry reported 23 drones being shot down over various regions, countering Ukraine’s drone operations. Despite restrictions on long-range weapons, Ukraine continues to launch drone attacks on Russian territory.
These operations target oil refineries and airfields to disrupt Russia’s economy and reduce its military capabilities, notably aircraft used in bombing Ukrainian cities.
