In Jharkhand’s Pakur district, over 15 people, including six police personnel, were injured in a clash between law enforcement and tribal students. The confrontation occurred when police arrived at KKM College campus to investigate an abduction case.
The tribal students objected to the police’s entry, leading to a skirmish. The state BJP claimed that the students, who were planning a protest against Bangladeshi infiltration, were unjustly treated by the police. The students alleged that police forcefully entered the campus.
The Superintendent of Police stated that the altercation was unrelated to the planned rally by Adivasi Chatra Sangh. He explained that police responded to an abduction report and communicated with hostel inmates, resulting in a physical altercation.
A police team dispatched later was attacked by students, causing injuries to six officers. Leaders criticized the government for alleged mistreatment of tribals. Calls were made for action against the police involved and support for the injured students.
