PM chairs NITI Aayog’s Governing Council meeting

The recent meeting held by the NITI Aayog focuses on transforming India into a developed nation by 2047. The goal is to promote participative governance and collaboration between the Centre and state governments to improve the quality of life for both rural and urban populations through efficient government interventions.

The council, which comprises state chief ministers, lieutenant governors of Union Territories, and Union ministers, is working towards implementing the recommendations from the 3rd National Conference of Chief Secretaries, covering key areas like drinking water, electricity, health, education, and land management.

A vision document is being crafted to elevate India into a USD 30 trillion economy by 2047, emphasizing economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability, and good governance. NITI Aayog has been tasked with consolidating sectoral visions into a unified plan for a developed India by 2047.
