US Base at Gas Field in Eastern Syria Target of Missile Attack
A US base at a Conoco gas field in Deir ez-Zur, Syria, was hit by five missiles, according to a military source. US forces in Iraq and Syria have been under attack since October 2023 due to tensions following Hamas’ attack on Israel.
“Three missiles landed in the base, while two others hit nearby. US helicopters were deployed after the attack,” the source revealed.
The US military controls regions in Syria with significant oil and gas fields, which the Syrian government views as occupation and piracy.
Former President Donald Trump admitted the US presence in Syria was about securing oil resources. Current President Joe Biden has maintained troops in these strategic locations.
