Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri of Lebanon has firmly denied Hezbollah’s involvement in the recent attack on a village in Majdal Shams in the occupied Golan Heights. Despite Israeli military accusations, Berri emphasized that Lebanon and Hezbollah follow the laws of war and do not target civilians.
Hezbollah quickly refuted any connection to the attack, suggesting it may have been caused by an Israeli anti-rocket interceptor. Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati also condemned the incident, calling for an immediate end to hostile actions on all fronts.
Former Lebanese Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt cautioned against Zionist attempts to use the incident as a pretext for aggression, highlighting past Israeli crimes against civilians. Hezbollah has been engaged in clashes with the Israeli military along Lebanon’s southern border, leading to fears of a potential all-out war.
Amid escalating tensions, Hezbollah and other governments warn Israel of the dire consequences of provoking a full-scale conflict. However, the Israeli regime, led by Prime Minister Netanyahu, continues to defy international laws and court verdicts, particularly evident in the ongoing atrocities in Gaza. The situation remains tense as both parties remain on high alert.
