Israel to ‘forcefully operate’ in Khan Younis, orders evacuation in Gaza

Israel’s military issued an evacuation order to residents in Khan Younis, Gaza, threatening to “forcefully operate” in the embattled town, amidst intensifying bombardment. Recent Israeli ground assaults killed dozens as the Israel Defense Forces warned of reducing the humanitarian zone due to Hamas presence.

Tens of thousands are displaced, with Israel claiming to have killed around 100 militants during the conflict. The military urged the remaining population to evacuate to a designated humanitarian area to avoid potential harm from terrorist activity.

Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have resulted in significant casualties, with Gazan authorities reporting 39,090 deaths and 90,147 injuries. Evacuation orders have caused around 150,000 people to flee, putting pressure on limited supplies of food, water, and shelter.

Aid agencies highlight the challenges in delivering emergency aid amidst continuous evacuation orders. UN agencies describe the dire living conditions in Gaza, emphasizing the urgent need for humanitarian assistance.

The IDF recently recovered the bodies of five Israeli hostages from a tunnel in Khan Younis, previously designated as a “humanitarian area.” The ongoing conflict continues to escalate, with both sides facing mounting challenges.
