Intelligence-based Operation in Tank District: Four Terrorists Killed
Security forces successfully neutralized four terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Tank district, as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday. The operation targeted the reported presence of terrorists in the area, resulting in an intense exchange of fire which led to the elimination of the terrorists involved in various criminal activities including abduction.
Aside from the terrorists, weapons and ammunition were also recovered. The locals praised the efforts of the security forces in eradicating terrorism from the region. This operation comes in the wake of increased terrorist activities in Pakistan, particularly in KP and Balochistan, following the termination of the ceasefire between the government and Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in November 2022.
Furthermore, an incident on July 16 in Bannu Cantonment saw security forces thwart a terrorist attack launched by the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group from Afghan soil, resulting in the deaths of 10 attackers and eight personnel. The vigilant response of the security forces showcases their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation.
