The Regional Forum of National Human Rights Institutions in Salalah concluded with key recommendations to strengthen cooperation and enhance human rights practices across the region. The two-day forum at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex focused on improving collaboration among national human rights institutions and involving civil society organizations, particularly those representing vulnerable groups, in national vision planning.
Participants highlighted the importance of capacity building and data analysis to effectively monitor human rights strategies. Discussions included integrating human rights into Oman Vision 2040, sustainable development goals, and transparent implementation of national visions.
Over 170 participants from 50+ institutions, including UN representatives, attended the forum. Emphasizing effective communication between national human rights committees and implementing agencies, the forum aimed to support vision implementation in accordance with the Paris Principles.
The recommendations are set to enhance human rights practices, foster collaboration, and promote sustainable development in the region.
