Surge in Dengue Cases in Karnataka: Health Minister Raises Concerns
The Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Pratap Rao Jadhav, recently revealed in Lok Sabha that Karnataka has seen a significant increase in dengue cases. As of June 30 this year, the state has reported 5,976 cases, compared to 2,260 cases in the same period last year.
Jadhav emphasized that various health agencies are closely monitoring the situation in Karnataka, with measures such as budgetary support, training, and awareness activities in place to combat the spread of dengue. Free diagnosis services are also available in 37 hospitals across the state.
Additionally, the central government has released substantial funds under the National Health Mission and Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission to support dengue control efforts in Karnataka.
