10 states and UTs didn’t participate in the NITI Aayog meeting chaired by PM Narendra Modi. 26 participants were present, including Chief Ministers and Lt Governors. The absentees were Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Bihar, Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Puducherry.
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee left the meeting after speaking out of turn. PM Modi encouraged states to compete for FDI for balanced investments.
The meeting focused on demographic management and the ‘zero poverty’ concept at the village level. PM Modi urged states to invest more in districts for growth.
