The Sudanese Congress Party Accuses Government Authorities of Targeting Members

The Sudanese Congress Party has accused government authorities in Port Sudan of targeting its members by banning and confiscating their national identity card numbers. The party revealed that one of its lawyers had his national identity card banned, preventing him from renewing his passport without providing any reasons.

The party expressed outrage at the actions of the government authorities, whom they believe are linked to the National Congress Party. They condemned the confiscation of citizens’ rights and the targeting of their members with ID number and passport bans.

Rihab Al-Mubarak, the spokesperson for the Sudanese Emergency Lawyers Committee, confirmed that the campaign to confiscate passports by the Port Sudan government is intensifying against thousands of Sudanese for racial reasons.

The Sudanese Congress Party vowed to confront these actions legally and ethically while remaining committed to their principles and working with allies to end the ongoing conflict peacefully.
