Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukraine by using a new type of cheaply-made drone, according to Andrii Cherniak, a spokesperson for Ukraine’s military intelligence. These drones, including Shahed-type and new plywood-and-plastic foam drones, are being used for long-range attacks, targeting air defense systems and providing valuable information to Russian forces.
Cherniak revealed that the drones have been employed in five recent attacks, causing significant damage. These attacks further escalate tensions between the two countries, with Russia aiming to gather intelligence on Ukrainian air defenses and strategic positions.
Recent reports also highlight an unidentified drone targeting Kyiv, signaling the evolving tactics of Russian forces. The drone’s unique features, including a wingspan of over 4 meters, raise concerns about the sophistication of Russia’s drone technology.
As Ukraine continues to defend itself against Russian aggression, support for independent journalism remains crucial in bringing these critical developments to light.
