Iran intends to target Israeli delegation in Paris, says minister

Foreign Minister Israel Katz recently sounded the alarm, alleging that Iran was plotting an attack on the Israeli delegation at the Paris Olympic Games. According to Katz, recent incidents of sabotage on France’s fast-rail services and threats at the Basel-Mulhouse Airport in Switzerland were linked to Iran’s “axis of evil.” Katz urged global leaders to take action against Iran before it’s too late.

Despite extensive security measures with 45,000 police, 10,000 soldiers, and 2,000 private security staff, France’s rail lines were targeted by arsonists, causing significant disruption. The French diplomatic sources reassured that Israeli athletes and attendees would receive top-notch security during the games.

The Eurostar warned passengers against traveling on the London-Paris line, and German train services were impacted as well. Investigations are ongoing to identify the culprits behind the rail service attacks. Germany’s government has condemned the assaults and awaits the outcome of the French probe.

As the Paris Olympics commence, Chancellor Olaf Scholz affirmed attending the opening ceremony, confident in France’s security measures. Amidst the apprehension, French police recently apprehended a Russian man connected to Olympic destabilization plots, causing diplomatic tensions with the Kremlin seeking further information.
