US Detects Chinese-Russian Flight Near Alaskan Airspace
The head of the Pentagon revealed that the US detected a joint flight between Chinese and Russian aircraft near Alaskan airspace, marking the first time such cooperation between the two countries has been observed. Although the aircraft did not enter US airspace, American and Canadian warplanes intercepted the Russian and Chinese bombers in international airspace near Alaska.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin emphasized that the US closely monitored and tracked the aircraft, showcasing the country’s strong surveillance capabilities. The Chinese and Russian aircraft came within 200 miles of the American coast, raising concerns about the relationship between the two nations and their potential collaboration in various global issues.
Despite the concerning nature of the flight, NORAD reassured the public that the activity was not seen as a direct threat and vowed to continue monitoring competitor activity near North America.
