Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan agree on military intelligence cooperation in defense, approved treaty

A recent development in military intelligence cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan has been approved. The “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on cooperation in the field of military intelligence in the field of defense” was signed in Baku on June 7, 2024, and President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree to implement it.

Once in force, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan will oversee the agreement’s implementation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been tasked with notifying Kazakhstan of the completion of domestic procedures necessary for the agreement to take effect.
