Yemen: Houthi fires ballistic missiles at Israel in response to Hodeida strike

The Houthi group in Yemen launched ballistic missiles towards Israel, targeting Eilat and the American ship “Pumba”. This retaliation followed Israeli attacks on Hodeida port. The Houthi spokesperson warned of a long battle and their right to defend Yemen against aggression.

Israeli military intercepted a missile from Yemen towards Eilat after bombing Hodeida. The strikes on Hodeida killed three and wounded 87. Israeli Defence Minister vowed more operations against Houthis if attacked again. Houthi leaders threatened to escalate in response.

The Israeli attacks on Hodeida aimed to pressure Yemen to stop supporting Palestinians in Gaza. The situation raised concerns over Yemen’s aid lifeline, with fears of interruption. Regional powers like Saudi Arabia and the US distanced themselves from the strikes.

UN chief urged restraint to prevent further escalation. Hezbollah in Lebanon warned of a dangerous turn in the conflict. The war-torn country’s crucial port remains vital for aid supplies amidst the ongoing conflict.
