Israeli films will be featured at the Venice International Film Festival, despite controversy over the war in Gaza. The Horizons section will showcase Dani Rosenberg’s “Of Dogs and Men,” focusing on a girl searching for her lost dog after a massacre. Another Israeli film, “Happy Holidays” by Scandar Copti, will also be highlighted. Additionally, Amos Gitai’s “Why War” will premiere, exploring the reasons behind ongoing conflicts. Erez Tadmor’s “Soda” will be screened, depicting a love story set in 1956 Israel.

Critical acclaim

Gitai, known for films like “Kadosh” and “Kippur,” brings a star-studded cast to Venice. Tadmor’s film features Rotem Sela and Lior Raz in a historical drama. The festival opens early September, offering a diverse array of Israeli cinema alongside global counterparts.
