Tragic Attack by Suspected ADF Rebels in DR Congo
Suspected Ugandan rebels of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) carried out a brutal attack in North Kivu province, DR Congo, killing 17 civilians. The victims, including men and women, were working in their fields when they were ambushed by the rebels, with some being decapitated with machetes.
Local officials have called for intensified military operations in the region to combat the growing threat of the ADF. This attack follows similar incidents in the past, highlighting the urgent need for security measures to protect civilians.
In response to the activities of the ADF, the US has announced sanctions against individuals accused of facilitating the terror group’s expansion in Africa. The sanctions target key financiers and enablers operating across Central, Eastern, and Southern Africa.
