Shrinking Gaza’s ‘safe zones’: Israel’s actions | Israel-Palestine conflict.

Israel is declaring more and more of Gaza out of bounds for Palestinians — including parts it has called ‘safe zones’.

Israel’s latest move in Gaza has marked 83 percent of the territory as unsafe for Palestinian civilians. This includes ‘no-go zones’ and areas under evacuation orders, according to the UN. Continuous Israeli attacks have left residents feeling unsafe, with over 39,000 Palestinians killed.

Recent evacuation orders in Khan Younis resulted in at least 70 deaths after Israeli airstrikes. This shrinking ‘safe zone’ in southern Gaza has raised concerns about humanitarian conditions. The UN reports that nearly 150,000 residents were displaced to areas with limited infrastructure.

The repeated attacks and changing designation of safe zones by Israel have worsened the situation for Palestinians. With over 90 percent of Gaza displaced at least once, the region is facing a humanitarian crisis. The UN describes the displacement as people being moved like pawns in a board game, with nowhere safe in Gaza due to Israeli military actions.
