Mojtaba Yousefi, a senior Iranian lawmaker, announced that several international dignitaries, including five presidents and 10 parliament speakers, will attend the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian in Iran. The ceremony is scheduled to take place in the parliament on July 30.
The swearing-in ceremony will follow an endorsement ceremony on July 28, which will be attended by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, along with government and military officials.
Pezeshkian emerged victorious in the election with over 16 million votes, defeating former nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili. The runoff election took place on Friday, following a snap election on June 28 to select a successor to President Ebrahim Raeisi, who tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash in northwest Iran.
Excitement is building as Iran prepares for the historic inauguration of its new president, marking a significant moment for the country and its people.
